Arts Council of Ireland Agility Award

I’m delighted to say that I received an Arts Council Agility Award to investigate kinetics and have time to think and make new work for the year ahead 2024. This is very important for me and my practice to have this time to think , reflect and make new work at this start of the new Year. I have been working away quietly in January and I will update more as I progress with this experimentation.

Artists need time to think and reflect, grants like this are essential for us to progress new ideas and to experiment.

It’s important also for artists to experience other artists work, I try to make time to visit galleries and marvel at artists exhibiting work near me in Dublin. See above image from Ailbhe Ni Bhriain’s amazing solo show at The Kerlin Gallery, Dublin.

“Her Hare”

I took a day trip to Visual Carlow, it’s such a wonderful space, such inspirational work on show currently. Work by Caroline Achaintre shown above in the image.

I also saw Sonya Shiel’s work “Medusa in Pieces” which was amazing in scale and vision.
