I am really delighted to say that my work “Tangled earth” will be included in the upcoming BloodRoot exhibition in The Pulchristudio Gallery in The Hague, Netherlands.
“The Embassy of Ireland The Netherlands, Hamilton Gallery & Pulchri studio are proud to present ‘Bloodroot’, an open call exhibition featuring 110 works by lrish women artists, responding to selected poems from Bloodroot by Annemarie Ní Churreain.

The exhibition runs from January 22 to February 5 2025 at Pulchri Studio, The Hague, as part of the international St Brigid’s Day / Lá Fheile Bríde cultural programme.”
Thank you so much to The Hamilton Gallery and Pulchri Studio for selecting my work to be shown among 110 artworks by amazing women artists. Thank you to Annemarie for creating such wonderful work for us to interpret.

I created “Tangled Earth” in response to the poem “Bog Medicine” which really spoke to me as my Mothers Mother was of Donegal stock like the Poet AnneMarie and I feel the spiritual call of the place as an artist and mother myself.
I felt the poem was like plunging my hands into cold wet bog and grasping earth and delicate wild flowers, ferns and nettles. Clay is earthy soft and malleable responding to scorching heat by transforming itself into ceramic. Look closely at the work and see the hills and the tiny flowers and tangled earth.
