“Inner Sphere”

I was awarded The ESB Moran Award for Outstanding Sculpture at The 192nd RHA Annual exhibition which includes receiving a silver medal from The RHA and it was also shortlisted for The RCSI / The Irish Times Art Award for 2022.

The work comprises 132 lines of porcelain ceramic pieces hanging inside an acrylic cube 60cm. The “inner sphere” is a very personal piece to me as it was created during the uncertain times of our recent pandemic and with all the stresses and strains of trying to keep our family of 6 connected with work, schools and colleges and in the middle of all that trying to carve times for my artistic practice. The pieces are all individual and free hanging but together make a complete sphere which appears to float. The central inner sphere is myself, my space , my time with my work.
